TERRA-STALK

Rates the day. Finds the deer. Reads the wind.

A hunt predictor built by a sambar hunter for the Australian high country — and everywhere AU & NZ hunters chase deer, pigs, goats and tahr. A map shows you the ground. Terra-Stalk tells you when to be on it, where the animals are likely to be, and how to come in on them — then hands you offline maps and stalk tools to act on it.

Built to answer three questions

When should I go? Where will they be? How do I get in? Everything in Terra-Stalk feeds those answers.

The Hunt Dial

Every day scored 0–10 for your spot and species — moon phase, feeding windows, weather, pressure trend and first/last light in one dial. A week ahead, with the “why” behind every score one tap away. A pre-hunt brief reads the day in plain words — frost, moon, wind, the evening thermal switch.

Find the Game

Mark where deer step out to feed. The app reads the terrain and today’s conditions back to the benches, spurs and gully heads they’re likely bedded on — or the thickest cover in flat country — and draws the routes between. A focus aid, not a promise.

Wind, Thermals & Scent

Scent cones and thermals computed from the terrain — and honest about it: when the forecast is more than three days old, the app says so instead of drawing a guess. Save huntable wind arcs per spot, drawn around each pin, with approach arcs showing the side you can come in from.

It Learns You

Log hunts — where you saw it, whether you let it walk — and the model recalibrates to your country: per-spot success, your best time windows, which weather factors actually matter where you hunt. Your trail cameras get the same treatment. All on the phone, never a server.

Plan the Week

Best Spot Tomorrow compares your favourites head-to-head; the weekly planner finds the windows worth taking leave for. Wallow watch tells you when recent rain has them working.

Offline Maps & Stalk Mode

Nationwide AU + NZ topo with contours and hillshade, recent aerial, Cover+ vegetation, Burn age and public-land layers — downloaded by the block. Stalk Mode: heading-up GPS, the legal-light clock, a track that survives the screen locking, and Find mode for the recovery.

Straight off the phone

Use it with the map app you already have

Got a GPS app you like? Keep it. Terra-Stalk imports and exports GPX, KML and KMZ both ways and reads your own GeoTIFFs. It’s the part that decides the hunt.

Everything in the app

  • Solunar + weather rating engine tuned per species — sambar, hog & red deer, fallow, pigs, goats, tahr, chamois, buffalo, chital
  • Pre-hunt brief + tactics — what today’s frost, moon, wind and rain mean for where they’ll be
  • Find the game — mark where deer step out to feed and it reads the terrain back to the benches and spurs they bed on
  • Wind setups — save huntable arcs per spot, see them around each pin on the map, get dawn/dusk verdicts
  • Wallow tracking with rain-driven re-mark validation per spot
  • Hunt log + insights — success by conditions, light windows, spots, and what your trail cameras say
  • Personalisation — the rating recalibrates from your logged results
  • Per-factor weather charts with hunting thresholds — scent-drain temps, thermal turn, jumpy-wind lines, pre-front feeding
  • Prime-time ribbon — the day’s best minutes as a heat strip over every chart
  • First / last light + legal times for your exact spot
  • Honest offline — saved forecasts, wallow rain, and scent that says when its wind is too old to trust
  • Route Effort — the climb, an honest walking time and the carry-out cost of any route, with a leave-by clock
  • Hunting-area overlays — VIC deer areas, NSW State Forests, national parks, seasonal closures, NZ DOC land
  • Tap a land parcel — hunting areas, forests, parks and closures light up with their rules
  • Burn age — fire scars of the last six seasons on huntable land, graded fresh / prime feed / thickening (VIC, NSW) — free
  • Waypoints with photos — rubs, beds, wallows, cameras, gates, your ute
  • Colour-coded hunt areas — red for the spot the rating is set to, purple trail cameras, teal wallows
  • Boundaries & sketch plans drawn straight on the map
  • Track recording that survives the phone locking
  • Shot mark + Find mode for recovery lines
  • Offline blocks — topo, aerial, vegetation and terrain in one download
  • GPX / KML / KMZ import and export — bring your existing data
  • GeoTIFF import — your own drone or scanned maps, georeferenced
  • Full backup to a single file — your data is yours
  • No account. No ads. Everything stays on the phone
